IEBlog : IE7 Beta 2 Preview Available
IE7 Beta 2 Preview AvailableIf you’re a developer, an IT Pro, or just plain interested, please visit http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/ to try the IE7 Beta 2 Preview.
Don't have time to customize, so hear again is Mr. "Old Faithful" Burns providing his commentary on the matter:

[UPDATE: Acid2 Test and Phishing Philter Phlub screen shots below]
While I was confident it wouldn't pass, I was interested to see just how far off this release of IE7 was from the Acid2 reference.
First, the reference:

Next, IE7 Beta 2 Preview:

Uhhh... Yikes!
Ok, so we can pass this off, for the moment, as Beta. Not sure if MS even plans to make an attempt at passing the Acid2 test. If yes, oh boy... they've got some work ahead of them for sure.
Moving forward, I noticed something strange with the Phishing Filter:
[NOTE: Top of screenshot, to the right of the address bar.]

This only pops up, thus far, on this page of my blog, and only like every third refresh. Is this a bug (I'm assuming yes) or is there something in my markup that I need to be aware of that is throwing a "suspicious" flag? Anybody mind helping me out here? If this is something I'm doing incorrectly, would be a good thing to know so I can fix it. I would hate to leave visitors with the impression something bad is potentially happening behind the scenes, and they should be aware. Not exactly "confidence building" and is *DEFINITELY* something I would like to fix if its something I am doing wrong!
Thanks to anyone who can throw me a bone on this one!

LOL! The Burns pic is so the right image ;-)
Hey Danny,
Now all we need is someone who can draw a TON better than I can to morph Mr. Burns will Bill Gates and I’d bet we might even convince slashdot to replace the borg/assimilated pic they’ve been using for the last - 6, 7 years?
Any talent out there up for the challenge? :D
If you click on the “Suspicious Website” button, it’ll take you to a microsoft page, (in a new window despite my setting it to not do that) where you can tell Microsoft that this site is not a phishing site. After sending my submission, it’s still showing up there, so who knows how many votes it needs to go away.
Maybe Microsoft just thinks that Mr. Burns looks like the type of guy that might be loose with your Personally Identifiable Information.
Hey Daniel!
:D Actually, right after I wrote my last response to Danny, I looked at Mr. Burns and Mr. Gates could be morphed together quite nicely. Could DEFINITELY be the reason behind the warning ;) :D
On a more serious not, each time I tried clicking that link, nothing happened. Just sat there. It didn’t freeze up, so thats always a good thing :) but it wouldn’t take me to the site. Wonder if it was just at that time? I’ll try again now and see what happens.
Thanks for letting me know! The fact that you “got through” gives me some encouragement that it may have just been a temporary snaffu with a new release/reporting system.
I’ll update this with the result.
Thanks for your help!
[UPDATE: No such luck. Not sure what it might be. I’ll give it a couple days and see what happens. If it stills shows up I’ll dig a bit deeper.
Thanks again for your help!]
If that doesn’t work, you can double click on the last box on the status bar before the “Internet Zone” box. That should bring you there.
If that fails… the url is:
https://phishingfilter.microsoft.com/feedback.aspx?result=warn&URL={url-encoded url of site}
Excellent! Thanks Daniel! :D
