While in their own right there are many unsung hero's in the world of XML software development languages and while there are many individuals deserved of extensive praise I am speaking more to a specific technology, a workhorse who's expectations amount to 80% of XQuery's workload (what can you expect from an attempt to hack a together a couple "custom" macros and call it a programming language (I'm ready for ya... comon' -- showme whatcha working with... :D)) and is the pure and fundamental foundation of XSLT 2.0, as well as the built-in language standard for nearly every other technology that implements any sort of XML referencing functionality (speaking to XPath 1.0 in the now, and 2.0 as the uncontested winner from here on out.) I think I've already said enough to find myself the object of every XQuery lovers affection for days to come so instead of blabbering anymore I am simply going to state that I am officially deeming March 22nd, 2005 as XPath 2.0 Day here on ]]>
Thank you XPath 2.0. We couldn't do any of this without you!
