Signs on the Sand: Hardware XSLT Acceleration
I had planned a much lengthier follow-up to my earlier post regarding Sarvega’s XML Speedway Accelerator but Oleg has already posted an excellent summary as to the features of this product so I will hold off for now until such time as I am able to get a hold of that missing benchmark.
I apologize in advance for the onslaught of information you are about to get but I have several half finished posts that I need to finish up before they become dated. Midway through the day yesterday a sudden realization came upon me as to the congruent relationship several projects that I am working on have. It was one of those spine tingling realizations you get when it seems to have no other explanation beyond something much bigger than anything we might understand has had a hand in things. As such I decided I needed to get out of from behind the computer and get away for a bit so I could try to make a bit more sense of things. I think it has helped as this morning seems a bit more clear as to direction and focus so I guess we will see where it leads.
Cheers!

Ooops, sorry… :(
I’m trying to think of what you might be sorry for… if you’re concerned that your post for this juicy tidbit was published ever-so-slightly after mine please know that my plan for control of the worlds XSLT-related news and information (alpha bits at the moment ;) has taken a back seat to… wait, I don’t have a plan to control the worlds XSLT news and information…
I’m just glad that we both see this as something exciting enough to tell the rest of the XSLT world about. Isn’t this sweet!!!! I WANT ONE!!!!! :D :)
Think if we promised Sarvega to only post nice things about them they might hook us up with some hardware? I know, tell them that you are rethinking their job offer but need two units for testing purposes and then enough time to properly evaluate them before you could feel comfortable taking the job…
What do you think? :D ;) If it works, can I “borrow” the second one from ya… I promise I’ll give it back… sometime… later… down-the-road… just-a-bit… :D
Cheers! :)
I just retested the site to make sure - the benchmark should be downloadable at http://www.sarvega.com/xslt-benchmark.php, just scroll down the page - it asks for your some information, and then links you to the paper on the benchmark and the entire test suite..
Fantastic! I will make sure I get this posted as a main entry once I have verified I can get in. Would’nt want to send people your way only to find they can’t gain access :)
Thanks for the update!
